I Looked Into Natural Farm City Noen Hotel

On this blog, I've looked into and written about several accommodations and campsites that seem relatively easy to stay at even for indoor types like me.

This time, I looked into Natural Farm City Noen Hotel. I came across information saying you can take in a panoramic mountain view from the observation deck of a large public bath, and as someone who loves baths, I got curious and decided to look into it further.

The Short Version

The biggest draw of this hotel seems to be the view of the Okuchichibu mountain range from the observation deck of its large public bath, an artificial hot spring made using natural minerals.
Rakuten Mobile's signal came back with a C rating.

I've put together more details below.

The Hotel's Highlight Seems to Be the Observation Public Bath "Shikisai no Yu"

This hotel is located in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. According to the official website, its signature feature is an artificial hot spring called Shikisai no Yu (also referred to as Komyo Kamigami Onsen), which uses a natural mineral called Komyoseki. It reportedly offers benefits for neuralgia, rheumatism, stiff shoulders, lower back pain, and poor circulation.

The large public bath is characterized by its big windows, with descriptions noting views of the Okuchichibu mountain range in the morning and the night view of Chichibu city in the evening. There's reportedly also an open-air bath, a low-temperature sauna, and a tatami-mat resting room attached. Bathing hours are apparently split into two sessions: 3:00 PM to midnight, and 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM. I couldn't find any mention of private baths on the official website, so I wasn't able to confirm whether they're available.

Having a bath with different views in the morning and at night sounds like quite a treat. Even as an indoor person, I feel like I might want to go outside just for this bath.

I Checked Out the Buffet and Room Types

The dinner buffet reportedly features around 50 Japanese and Western dishes, ranging from fresh vegetables to roast beef carved at an open kitchen and freshly fried tempura. The breakfast buffet apparently offers around 20 to 25 Japanese and Western dishes, centered on a salad bar using Chichibu-grown vegetables. Depending on the plan, breakfast may come as a set menu instead. Since allergen labeling reportedly covers the "7 major allergens," it should be easy enough to check if you have concerns. Course meals are also available, including Japanese-Western kaiseki, medicinal-herb kaiseki, and even a vegan course, apparently.

  • Room types: The main building reportedly offers 5 types (Japanese-Western style with an open-air bath, Japanese style with an open-air bath, Japanese-modern style, Western style with a view bath, and standard Japanese style), plus 2 types in the annex (a maisonette Western-style room with 4 beds, and one with 3 beds plus a sofa bed) — 7 types in total.
  • Amenities: Each room in the main building apparently comes with face towels, bath towels, yukata robes, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and more.
  • The annex is set up like a resort condominium, and the official website states that all 48 rooms offer views of Chichibu's night scenery.
  • Accessibility: While the Western-style rooms with a view bath are described as "semi-barrier-free," the official website clearly states that the bathroom, sink area, and toilet are not wheelchair accessible. If this matters to you, it might be worth checking in advance.

As for Wi-Fi, I came across general travel information sites mentioning that it's available in guest rooms and throughout the building, but I couldn't find any clear mention of it on the official website's room pages or facility pages, so I wasn't able to confirm this for certain. There's a gift shop in the hotel (open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM) that reportedly carries Moomin merchandise and Chichibu specialty products. The hotel also appears to be an officially recognized supporter hotel for Moomin Valley Park, which might be of interest to Moomin fans.

Access and Nearby Sightseeing/Food

It's reportedly about 5 to 7 minutes by car or taxi from Seibu-Chichibu Station or Chichibu Station, and there's apparently a free shuttle bus available with advance reservation. By car, it's said to take roughly 40 minutes from the Hanazono IC on the Kanetsu Expressway, or about 60 minutes from the Sayama-Hidaka IC on the Ken-O Expressway. Parking is reportedly free and doesn't require a reservation, though I couldn't find the number of spaces listed on the official website, so I wasn't able to confirm the exact scale.

Nearby, there's apparently Daijiji Temple, the 10th of the pilgrimage sites (about a 10-minute walk), the Michi-no-Eki Chichibu roadside station (about 3 minutes by car), Chichibu Shrine (about 7 minutes by car), and the shibazakura hill at Hitsujiyama Park along with Chichibu Muse Park (about 10 to 15 minutes by car). Venture a bit further and you can apparently also reach Hodosan Shrine, Mitsumine Shrine, and Moomin Valley Park. As for food, local specialties seem to include pork miso rice bowls and okoju from the Michi-no-Eki Chichibu roadside station, as well as pork miso rice bowls, waraji katsu don (sandal-sized pork cutlet rice bowls), Chichibu soba, and miso potatoes around Chichibu city.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

When I checked this facility's location (Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture) using Rakuten's official "My Area Network Simulation" tool, the overall rating came back as "C."

I also looked into general reviews and firsthand accounts, but I couldn't find any information about how Rakuten Mobile actually performs at this hotel, so I wasn't able to confirm the real-world experience. Given the C rating, if a strong signal indoors matters to you, it might be worth double-checking for yourself just in case.

A C rating is something I just have to accept as-is, honestly. Since you're there to relax in the hot springs anyway, maybe it's fine to go with the mindset that you don't need a signal.

Wrapping Up

To sum up, Natural Farm City Noen Hotel struck me as a place centered around its hot springs, where you can enjoy views of the Okuchichibu mountain range and Chichibu's night scenery from an observation bath made using natural minerals. The wide variety of buffet dishes and the connection to Moomin Valley Park also seem like they'd add to the enjoyment of a stay. That said, Rakuten Mobile's signal came back with a C rating, so if you're concerned about connectivity, it's probably a good idea to check the official tool in advance.
