I Looked Into Mission Hills Hotel & Cottage
2026-09-06

This blog has mainly focused on campsites and day-trip hot springs, but lately I've been taking a bit of a detour to gradually cover hotel and cottage-type accommodations as well. This time's post falls into that same 'hotel/resort detour' category.
This time I looked into Mission Hills Hotel & Cottage, an accommodation facility attached to Mission Hills Country Club, a golf course in Minano, Chichibu, Saitama. What got me curious was simply wondering what kind of atmosphere a hotel where you can stay at a golf course would have, plus I came across information that one of the Japanese-Western style rooms comes with a private sauna, which made me want to look into it.
Even as someone who doesn't golf, what caught my attention was that the Japanese-Western style room comes equipped with a private sauna.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal conditions, the official tool couldn't produce a determination, so it's treated as unknown.
I've summarized the details below.
What Kind of Place Is Mission Hills Hotel & Cottage?
It's apparently a hotel attached to Mission Hills Country Club, a golf course located in Minano, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture. It seems to be about a 20-minute drive from the Hanazono IC on the Kanetsu Expressway, with the route apparently going through the Minano-Nagatoro Toll Road. If traveling by train, access seems to be from Seibu-Chichibu Station or Minano Station on the Chichibu Railway, but there's apparently a shuttle service from Nagatoro Station available for guests (fully reservation-based, requiring booking by the day before), which I found to be a welcome point since I don't drive.
Check-in is apparently from 3:00 PM, and check-out by 10:00 AM. Reservations can be made by phone to the hotel, as well as through online booking on the official website or various booking sites like Rakuten Travel. As for pricing, what's available on the official site mainly centers on the 'Golf Stay Package' that includes a day of play, and I couldn't find a standalone rate table for room-only stays. Visitor golf fees seem to range from around 10,980 yen per person on weekdays to around 19,980 yen and up on holidays, so if you're considering combining it with a stay, it seems the price could vary quite a bit depending on the season.

I was a bit curious whether you could stay there without golfing, but since the pricing is centered around golf packages, it seems like calling ahead to check would be a good idea if you just want to stay without golfing.
Japanese-Western Rooms with Private Saunas, and a Surprisingly Proper Communal Bath
The hotel building apparently has 12 rooms total, made up of 10 'Western-style twin rooms' and 2 'Japanese-Western rooms with private sauna.' The Western-style twin rooms have two single beds plus the option to add an extra bed, designed for 2-3 people, while the Japanese-Western rooms are spacious at 66 square meters, able to fit 15 futon sets and accommodate up to 15 people. The fact that this Japanese-Western room comes with an in-room sauna is the main reason I decided to write this article. It seems like a room designed with groups or families in mind.
The guest rooms appear to be equipped with the usual amenities like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, and a unit bath, but the unit bath is shower-only, so if you want to soak in a tub, you're apparently directed to use the communal bath in the clubhouse. The communal bath has the women's section on the first floor of the clubhouse and the men's section on the second floor, and it seems hotel and cottage guests can use it for free. It's apparently heated water rather than a natural hot spring, but since it's open until 10:00 PM, it seems like a nice way to slowly warm up a body tired from a round of golf or sightseeing.
- Wi-Fi: Apparently available for free in all rooms
- Amenities: Shampoo, conditioner, towels, toothbrushes, body soap, and other basics all seem to be provided
- Meals: Breakfast is a Japanese set meal, dinner is kaiseki cuisine, both apparently requiring advance reservation
- Parking: About 150 outdoor spaces, free, with 24-hour access
- Pets: Not allowed in guest rooms, but there's apparently a space for dogs in the annex lobby
Nearby, there seem to be sightseeing spots scattered around like the Nagatoro rock formations, river rafting, Mount Hodo, and the Chichibu Highland Farm, all apparently about 15-30 minutes away by car. It also sounds like you can enjoy Chichibu specialties nearby, such as Nagatoro's natural ice shaved ice and waraji katsudon.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
I checked the location of this facility using the official 'My Area Network Simulation' tool, but no determination result appeared—instead, it showed a message saying something like 'currently undergoing temporary maintenance.' This kind of display apparently happens when data for the target area hasn't been registered, so I wasn't able to get a definitive result for this facility this time. Because of that, I'm listing the signal conditions as 'unknown.'
Given that it's located at a golf course, I can imagine the area is surrounded by mountains and trees, but based on this check alone, I couldn't determine what the actual signal reception would be like. I'll share it as-is, without exaggeration.

This isn't the first time I've run into a case where no result comes up, but it still bothers me every time. If you're actually planning to stay there, it might be a good idea to check for yourself before you head out.
Wrapping Up
Summing it up again, Mission Hills Hotel & Cottage struck me as a surprisingly comfortable place to stay, complete with Japanese-Western rooms with private saunas and a proper communal bath, despite being attached to a golf course. Even if you're not there for golf, it seems easy to consider as a place to stay combined with sightseeing at spots like Nagatoro or Mount Hodo. That said, since I couldn't clearly confirm a room-only pricing structure on the official site, if you want to stay without meals, it seems like a good idea to check by phone in advance.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal conditions, this time the result came out as unknown, but I'm sharing that as-is since that's what came out of my research. If you're considering staying there, I'd recommend checking with your own device as well.
