I Looked Into WHITE LAMP

In this blog, I've been gradually researching, in a series, not just campgrounds but also facilities that could work as a side-trip destination for those days when I think, "let's skip camping today and do a hotel getaway instead."

This time, I looked into "WHITE LAMP." I came across photos of a glamping resort lined with dome-shaped cabins, and thought this might be the kind of place that could interest even someone like me who prefers staying indoors, so I decided to look into it.

The Short Version

It seemed to be quite a full-fledged glamping resort, with 7 room types and 15 rooms in a Nordic-inspired style, including wooden dome cabins as large as 10 meters in diameter.
As for Rakuten Mobile's signal, the official tool ended up not displaying a determination result.

I've summarized the details below.

What Kind of Place Is WHITE LAMP?

It's a glamping resort located in Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture. In addition to the reception building, it apparently consists of 2 wooden dome cabins with a 10-meter diameter, 9 wooden dome cabins with an 8-meter diameter, and 4 dome tents with a 6-meter diameter — 15 buildings in total. The site area is about 12,646.6 square meters, and it seems like each building is spaced out comfortably across a fairly spacious property.

Check-in is apparently at 3:00 PM, and check-out at 10:00 AM. Reservations can be made through the official website, as well as through booking sites like Rakuten Travel and Jalan net, or by phone. It seems reservations open starting on the same date six months before the stay.

As for the rates I was curious about, the official site's pages don't seem to list specific prices, so it looks like you need to check via the booking sites instead. In my general research I came across mentions like "room-only stays starting from 26,000 yen" or "one night with two meals starting from 36,000 yen (for two adults, one night)," but since I couldn't confirm these on the official page itself, it's probably best to treat them as reference information only. Also, starting October 1, 2026, an additional accommodation tax based on the room rate tier will apparently apply.

There are 20 outdoor parking spots (including 1 EV-only spot), available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're planning to go with multiple vehicles, it might be a good idea to check in advance.

With 15 buildings, just imagining the scale got me a little excited. Since I don't drive, the fact that there's apparently a shuttle service from Nasu-Shiobara Station is also something that caught my attention.

Dome-Shaped Rooms and Amenities That Caught My Indoor-Loving Eye

There are 7 room types across 15 rooms, all apparently designed with a Nordic-inspired feel. The top-grade option, the "Luxe suite," is a wooden dome cabin 10 meters in diameter, with a ceiling height reportedly reaching 6 meters. It comes with a lit vanity sink, shower, and an outdoor open-air bathtub, each provided in sets of two, which gave me the impression it would suit groups or families.

The 8-meter-diameter "Premier dome" appears to come in three variations — twin room, king bed, and indoor bathroom — while the "Universal," also an 8-meter dome, further expands the bathroom facilities and reportedly includes accessibility features. The 6-meter-diameter "Superior tent" apparently comes complete with a pure white bathroom you can move around in indoors, plus a separate toilet with a washlet function.

Amenities common to all rooms included the following:

  • Wi-Fi: Free, with both wireless and wired connections available. The password is apparently checked via a tablet in the room
  • Climate control & plumbing: Individual air conditioning, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and a hair dryer are included
  • Relaxation amenities: Projector & Bluetooth speaker, a BBQ grill on the deck terrace, a fire pit space
  • Wood stove: Installed in all buildings except the dome tents; in the top-grade rooms, it's apparently described as a feature for "spending time watching the flickering flames"
  • Bedding: Appears to use 5.8-inch pocket coil mattresses

As someone who prefers staying indoors, having a projector and Bluetooth speaker as standard felt like a quietly satisfying point to me. It seems designed so you could relax comfortably inside the dome without ever needing to step outside.

Meals and Pet-Friendly Policy

Stay plans basically seem to come with two meals included, and for dinner you can apparently choose between a BBQ course or a medicinal hot pot course. Options include a BBQ course using Nasu Highland wagyu beef and Nasu-gunji pork, a medicinal hot pot course using Hokkaido lamb, and also a marché-style plan where you can choose local vegetables. Breakfast is French-style, apparently featuring things like Yaita apple juice and a flan made with Nasu Goyo eggs. Meals seem to be delivered by staff directly to each room's deck.

As for bringing pets, it seems pets are accepted in three room types: Premier-dome A, Premier-dome B, and Universal. Medium-sized dogs up to 40cm in shoulder height are accommodated — one medium dog, or up to two small dogs. Large dogs don't seem to be allowed, so it's probably worth checking in advance. The fee is apparently 1,000 yen per dog per night, paid on-site.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

When I checked this facility's location (Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture) using the official "my area network simulation" tool, no determination result appeared — instead, it showed a fallback message along the lines of "currently undergoing temporary maintenance." This might happen when area data hasn't been registered yet, but I couldn't pin down the exact cause.

Because of this, I wasn't able to get any material to judge whether the signal is good or not this time, so I'm treating the overall assessment as "unknown." It's neither good nor bad — that's simply the result of this check.

This was the first time I'd seen a case where no result came up at all, so I was a bit puzzled myself. As a Rakuten Mobile user, I really appreciate having a tool like this that lets me check things on my own in situations like this.

If you're concerned about signal conditions, it's probably a good idea to check the official Rakuten Mobile tool yourself before your stay.

Wrapping Up

To sum up, my impression of WHITE LAMP is that it's a glamping resort with solid facilities, offering 7 room types across 15 rooms in a Nordic-inspired style, including wooden dome cabins as large as 10 meters in diameter. What stood out to me while researching was that amenities like a wood stove, projector, and Bluetooth speaker are all provided, making it comfortable even for someone like me who prefers staying indoors.

That said, I couldn't confirm specific accommodation rates or the detailed shuttle schedule from the station on the official page itself, so you'd likely need to call or check through a booking site. As for Rakuten Mobile's signal conditions, the result this time was undeterminable, so if you're actually considering staying there, it might be reassuring to check the signal in your own environment beforehand.
