I Looked Into Chashin no Yado Warakuen

For someone like me who doesn't drive, whether an inn offers a shuttle service from the station is a major factor in choosing where to stay. This blog is where I gradually look into inns and day-trip hot springs that seem easy to reach even without a car, from that perspective.

This time, I looked into Chashin no Yado Warakuen. Apparently Ureshino Onsen is also known as a tea-producing region, so when I found out there was a hot spring using tea, I got curious and decided to look into it.

The Short Version

This inn is known for its open-air tea bath using Ureshino tea, and with free shuttle service from the station (reservation required in advance), it left me with the impression that it's an inn that's easy to reach even without a car.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal conditions, the official tool didn't show a result and instead displayed a maintenance notice, so I wasn't able to check this time.

I'll go over the details below.

It Seems the Open-Air Tea Bath Using Ureshino Tea Is the Highlight

Chashin no Yado Warakuen is apparently a Japanese-style inn located in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture. True to its name, which includes the word for "tea spirit," the inn seems to place great importance on tea, and its signature feature is reportedly the open-air tea bath that combines Ureshino's local specialty tea with the hot spring water. The hot spring itself is a sodium bicarbonate spring, said to have skin-beautifying effects, so overall this comes across as an inn where the combination of tea and hot spring leaves a memorable impression.

Check-in is at 15:00 and check-out is at 10:00, which seems to be about the same timing as a typical Japanese inn. They also accept day-trip bathing, and apparently you can experience the open-air tea bath without staying overnight between 11:30 and 20:00 (except on Tuesdays). As for accommodation rates, the official website doesn't list specific prices, and it seems you need to check via the reservation form.

Just imagining a tea bath makes me feel like I can smell something nice already. Since you can apparently visit for a day trip too, I think it could be an option even if you don't have plans to stay overnight.

Great News for Non-Drivers: Free Shuttle Service from the Station

I have a driver's license but I'm what's called a "paper driver" who rarely actually drives, so the first thing I check when choosing an inn is how to get there from the station. In that sense, Warakuen looked like it could be a real help.

  • Shuttle stops: JR Ureshino Onsen Station, Ureshino Onsen Bus Center, and Ureshino Interchange Bus Stop
  • Conditions: The service is free, but advance reservation is required, and apparently you also need to contact the inn once you arrive in Ureshino Onsen.
  • Schedule and travel time: The official website doesn't list specific details, so it seems you'd need to confirm by phone in advance.
  • How to reserve: In addition to phone reservations, there also seems to be a web reservation form available.

Apparently the shuttle service is also available from Ureshino Onsen Station on the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, so it seems convenient for those traveling by bullet train as well. That said, detailed information like a timetable doesn't appear to be published, so if you're planning to actually use it, it might be safer to call ahead and check.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

I tried checking this location (the Ureshino-cho area of Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture) using the official "My Area Connectivity Simulation" tool, but no result came up—instead it showed a message saying it was undergoing temporary maintenance. I tried a few times and got the same result each time, so I wasn't able to check the signal conditions this time.

So for now, I'll note the Rakuten Mobile signal conditions at this inn as unknown. If you're planning to actually visit, it might be a good idea to check the official tool again right before your trip, or just keep an eye on your signal once you're there.

This was the first time I've come across a case where the signal result just didn't show up at all. As a Rakuten Mobile user, I felt like this is exactly the kind of situation where I should make it a habit to double-check things myself.

Wrapping Up

To sum up, Chashin no Yado Warakuen left me with the impression of an inn featuring an open-air tea bath using Ureshino tea and free shuttle service from the station, making it easy to reach even without a car. Since day-trip bathing is also available, it seems like an easy option to consider not just for an overnight stay but as a place to stop by as well.

On the other hand, I wasn't able to confirm the Rakuten Mobile signal conditions this time, so if that's something you're concerned about, it's probably a good idea to check again with the official Rakuten Mobile tool before your visit.
