I Looked Into Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort
2026-09-04

On Komorin's Fantasy Travel Blog, I keep steadily researching a series of accommodations and hot spring facilities that even I, without a car, could feasibly visit. I'd like to gradually add more coverage of the Kyushu area, so this time I put together some information again.
This time I looked into "Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort." I came across information saying it was renovated in 2025, and I got curious about how it changed from its previous name, so I decided to sort it out.
My impression was of a hotel that changed its name and got renovated, offering both a scenic hot spring with views of the Aso Five Peaks and an indoor pool usable year-round.
The Rakuten Mobile signal condition came back as a C rating, so if you're planning to use it, it seems reassuring to check in advance.
I've summarized the details below.
It Seems This Property Was Reborn From "Aso no Tsukasa Villa Park Hotel"
From what I found, this facility was apparently previously named "Aso no Tsukasa Villa Park Hotel & Spa Resort," and when the operating company changed in 2025, it was renamed and renovated to become "Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort." It seems the old name still remains on some booking sites, so when making a reservation, it might be helpful to confirm whether it's the same facility.
By the way, it seems there's another facility also named Kamenoi Hotel in the Aso area, so searching by name alone could be a bit confusing. The one I looked into this time is the "Park Resort" located in the Kurokawa area of Aso City.
Check-in is apparently at 3:00 PM and check-out at 10:00 AM. As for room rates, I couldn't find specific figures listed on the official website — it seems the system requires entering your dates and number of guests on a dedicated booking site to search. Reservations are basically made online, but it seems phone bookings are also accepted.

When a name changes, it seems the booking site listings might not have caught up yet. I was looking at it on my computer screen and for a moment found myself wondering, "Wait, is this the same hotel?"
A Facility Where You Can Enjoy a Hotel-Staycation Vibe With Scenic Hot Springs and a Pool
What caught my attention in terms of facilities was the hot springs and pool. In addition to an open-air bath, sauna, and family bath within the large communal bath, there are apparently four types of scenic hot springs with views of the Aso Five Peaks, using natural hot spring water. Indoors, there's also a heated pool with a lazy river and jacuzzi, usable year-round, so even as someone who prefers staying indoors, I felt it would be comfortable to visit regardless of season.
Meals are served at a buffet restaurant called "ASO BOLD KITCHEN," which apparently has 382 seats and around 90 different dishes. Guest rooms seem to be divided into several types across the East Wing, South Wing, North Wing, and Main Building. In February 2025, a "Kumamon Room" was apparently created on the top floor of the South Wing, and in April 2026, the East Wing is scheduled to be renovated with three new room types, including a ninja family room.
- Access: Apparently about 5 minutes by free shuttle bus from JR Aso Station, or about a 15-minute walk (the shuttle seems to require reservations in principle, so advance contact appears necessary)
- Access from the airport: Apparently about 50 minutes by bus from Aso Kumamoto Airport
- Parking: There's space for about 200 cars, and it's apparently free (parking a large bus not accompanying a group seems to incur an extra charge)
I couldn't find clear information about Wi-Fi details or whether pets are allowed on the official website. If this matters to you, it seems worth confirming directly before booking.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
When I checked this facility's location (the Kurokawa area of Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture) using the official "My Area Communication Simulation" tool, the overall rating came back as a "C."
Since it's a C rating, the experience may vary depending on the specific location and conditions inside the building. Since this is also a facility where you'd likely spend a lot of time in the hot springs and pool, if you're concerned about connectivity, it might be reassuring to check with the official tool in advance.

Hearing "C rating" makes me brace myself a little, but I keep telling myself that at a hotel where you spend a lot of time relaxing in the hot springs, maybe it's fine to unwind even if the signal is a bit weak.
Wrapping Up
To sum it up again, my impression of Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort was a hotel renovated in 2025, featuring scenic hot springs with views of the Aso Five Peaks and an indoor pool usable year-round. If you remember the previous name, "Aso no Tsukasa Villa Park Hotel," it should still be easy to find as the same facility. The Rakuten Mobile signal condition came back as a C rating, so if you're planning to use it, it seems like a good idea to check with the official tool in advance.
