Checking Out GLAMP DOME Fuji Oshino

Checking Out GLAMP DOME Fuji Oshino

This is part of my ongoing series where I slowly look into campsites, day-trip hot springs, and inns, and this time I'm picking another place that caught my eye. I'm an indoor person, and although I have a driver's license, I'm a paper driver who doesn't actually drive. So every time, I keep an eye on whether a place is reachable without a car.

This time I looked into GLAMP DOME Fuji Oshino in Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. What got my attention was the info that every unit has its own private hot spring bath. Sitting around a fire outside is not really my thing, but if I can soak in a hot spring in my own room, that might be a different story. I wanted to find out what kind of place it is as an option for relaxing at an inn instead of camping.

The Short Version

All 8 units come with a private hot spring bath in the room, and apparently you can use it 24 hours a day, so it looked really appealing for people who want to stay holed up in their room.
The Rakuten Mobile signal rating was "C". That's a result that leaves me a little uneasy about relying on the signal, so if you're concerned, I'd recommend checking ahead of time.

I've put the details below.

What Is This Oshino Glamping Site Where All 8 Units Have a Hot Spring Bath?

This is a glamping site in Oshino Village, in Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture. According to the official website (GLAMP DOME Fuji Oshino), it has 8 units in total. It also seems to advertise itself as the first glamping site in Yamanashi Prefecture where every unit has a hot spring.

Here is the basic information I could confirm on the official website.

  • Check-in / check-out: Check-in starts at 15:00. Check-out is 10:00 for the Aqua Dome and Lapis Tent, and 11:00 for the Villa Foresta. Early check-in and late check-out are generally not allowed, but apparently you can ask if you have a special reason.
  • Front desk hours: 8:00 to 21:00.
  • Reservations: Online booking seems to be the standard way. There's also a phone line for inquiries, open from 10:00 to 18:00.
  • Payment: Cash and major credit cards are accepted, it seems. If you ask at check-in, they can apparently issue a receipt.
  • Pets: It's clearly stated that pets are not allowed.
  • Cancellation fees: For the Villa Foresta, it's 50% from 30 days before and 100% from 7 days before. For the Aqua Dome and Lapis Tent, it's 50% from 14 days before and 100% from 7 days before. If you can't make it because public transportation is suspended or similar, apparently you can talk to them about it.

The official website doesn't list prices, and it looks like you check the plan list on the booking site. The rough guide I found on a portal site was per person (tax included) for a room-only stay with 5 people in one room: the Aqua Dome from 14,850 yen, the Lapis Tent from 12,650 yen, and the Villa Foresta from 21,450 yen. Apparently prices change by season, so it's best to treat these as a rough reference only.

A hot spring bath in every unit really hits the spot for someone like me who doesn't want to leave the room. That said, I couldn't confirm the prices on the official site, so I'd want to look over the plan list carefully before booking.

Rooms You Can Choose from Three Types: Dome, Tent, and Villa

Apparently there are three room types.

  • Aqua Dome: 5 units in total, with a capacity of 2 to 5 guests. It's a dome-style unit with 38 m² of floor space and a diameter of 7 m.
  • Lapis Tent: Capacity of 2 to 5 guests, with 36 m² of floor space. The description mentions a canopy.
  • Villa Foresta: Capacity of 2 to 6 guests, a 3LDK with 82 m² of room space on a 164.5 m² site. It's limited to one group per day and comes with a 21 m² private pool, it seems.

I couldn't find the exact number of Lapis Tent and Villa units on the official pages. Since 5 of the 8 units are Aqua Domes, the remaining 3 must be split between these two types. The villa is limited to one group per day, so maybe there are 2 Lapis Tents, but that's just my guess.

Checking the Facilities and How to Spend Time, as an Indoor Person

Here are the facilities that caught my eye, based on the official website.

  • In-room hot spring bath: It's a simple hot spring, and you can apparently bathe 24 hours a day. It also seems to say that people with tattoos are welcome to bathe.
  • Features common to all units: A private all-weather dining space for BBQ, a private toilet, a powder room, a fire pit, a refrigerator, and an air purifier. Apparently tableware and cooking utensils for the full capacity are also provided.
  • Air conditioning and connectivity: Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and power outlets are available.
  • Amenities: A towel set, shampoo and other bath products, toothbrushes, pajamas, slippers, a hair dryer, and skincare products seem to be provided.
  • Villa Foresta only: There's a 50-inch TV, it seems.
  • All-inclusive: There's a service with free drinks and snacks.

As a shared facility, there's also a wood-stove tent sauna by the river. For the löyly, you pour the water yourself, and a cold plunge and outdoor cooling area are apparently available too. It's by advance reservation only, with four time slots: 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, and 19:00. You need to wear a swimsuit or rash guard, and it can be canceled in case of storms, rain, or snow, it seems.

There's also a rainbow trout fishing pond on the grounds. The official website introduces nearby spots such as Oshino Hakkai, the Yamanashi Prefectural Fuji Water Spring Village Aquarium, and Fish Park. However, the distance and travel time from the facility weren't listed on the overview page, so I couldn't confirm them this time.

Can You Get There Without a Car? I Looked into Access

By car, it's apparently about 90 minutes from Tokyo, and about 4 minutes from the Fujiyoshida-Oshino Smart IC on the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road. There's free parking, and it's spacious, so you can apparently drive your luggage close to your room. That doesn't matter much to someone like me who doesn't drive, but it sounds reassuring for people going by car.

Here's the public transportation info I was curious about.

  • Highway bus: About 2 hours from Busta Shinjuku on the Fuji Five Lakes line. You get off at the Oshino Iriguchi bus stop, and from there it's about an 8-minute walk.
  • Train and bus: Transfer to the Fujikyuko Otsuki Line at Otsuki Station on the JR Chuo Line, and get off at Fujisan Station. From there it's about 20 minutes by bus. However, I haven't been able to confirm the name of the bus stop to get off at or the walking time from that stop.
  • Shuttle: The official website clearly states, "There is no shuttle service."

The lack of a shuttle was a bit of a concern for someone without a car. Even so, if I can head there from Shinjuku by highway bus and then walk about 8 minutes after getting off, it seems like something even a paper driver could consider.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

Now for the usual Rakuten Mobile signal conditions. I used the official "my Area Communication Simulation" and entered this facility's location (Oshino Village). I checked on October 6, 2026, and the overall rating showed up as "C".

Judging from this result, it seems best to check your connectivity ahead of time. If you're planning to watch videos or work on-site, it might be reassuring to prepare with the signal conditions in mind. On the other hand, the rooms apparently have Wi-Fi, so that could be an option for staying connected during your visit. That said, I haven't been able to check the Wi-Fi speed or stability this time.

If you're concerned about the signal, please try checking it yourself with Rakuten Mobile's official tool.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed that the rating was C. Still, if I'm just zoning out in the hot spring in my room, maybe the connection wouldn't be a big problem. Even so, I think it's safest to check ahead of time if you're worried.

Wrapping Up

To sum it up again, my impression of GLAMP DOME Fuji Oshino is that it's a glamping site where all 8 units have a private hot spring bath in the room, which seems great for relaxing indoors.

There are three types, the Aqua Dome, Lapis Tent, and Villa Foresta, and it seems to offer an all-weather dining space, fire pits, and a tent sauna you can reserve. For access, there's no shuttle, but it's about an 8-minute walk from the Oshino Iriguchi highway bus stop, so it looked like something you could consider even without a car.

The Rakuten Mobile signal rating was "C". If connectivity matters to you, it's reassuring to check with the area tool beforehand. Please also check the official website or the booking site for the latest details on prices and reservations.
