I Looked Into Beppu Onsen Yusai no Yado Bokai
2026-09-11

In this "Komorin's Imaginary Travels" series, I've been continuing what feels like an ongoing project: researching official websites and writing articles about inns and campsites that even I, without a car, might be able to visit.
This time, I looked into Beppu Onsen Yusai no Yado Bokai, located in the Kitahama area of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. I came across some information saying it won the "Best-Selling Inn Award" at jalan OF THE YEAR 2025, and that caught my interest, so I decided to look into it for now.
The appeal of this inn seems to lie in its skin-beautifying waters from two private source springs, along with the achievement of winning the jalan OF THE YEAR 2025 award.
As for the Rakuten Mobile signal, the official tool rated it a C, which isn't exactly a reassuring result.
I'll go over the details below.
It Looks Like This Inn Takes Pride in Its Two Private Source Springs
This inn in the Kitahama area of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, apparently has two private source springs of its own. The hot spring is known for its smooth, skin-beautifying quality, and it seems guests can enjoy two different types of baths: an indoor bath in the bathing building (a source-fed bath where you can see onsen flakes drifting in the water) and an open-air bath on the rooftop of the main building.
Reservations can apparently be made through the online booking page on the official website, or by phone (reception hours seem to run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM). As for specific room rates, the official site's "Plan List" page seems set up so you can compare several different plans, and at the time of writing this article, I wasn't able to confirm any clear pricing.

Having two private source springs of its own feels kind of luxurious. I'm the type who feels satisfied just imagining soaking in a hot spring, but even so, just looking at the photos on the official site made me feel a little more relaxed.
I Looked Into What the Guest Rooms and Meals Are Like
There seem to be a wide variety of room types available, including Japanese-style, Western-style, rooms with private open-air baths, and rooms with panoramic baths, and apparently some rooms let you choose a view of the sea or Beppu Tower. As someone who tends to stay indoors, I found it reassuring to learn that there are room types where you can enjoy the scenery without even leaving your room.
- Meal style: meals are apparently typically served in the room, though there's also a plan option that lets you use the dining hall, called Kaion
- Ingredients used: the cuisine seems to center around creative dishes made with ingredients from Oita Prefecture and the Kyushu region, such as Seki horse mackerel, Seki mackerel, pufferfish, and Oita Wagyu beef
- Non-smoking policy: the official site had a notice indicating that the inn is working toward making the entire building non-smoking
As for access, the inn is apparently within walking distance of JR Beppu Station, though I couldn't find the exact number of minutes on the official site. I also wasn't able to confirm whether day-use bathing is available, or what it would cost, in this round of research.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
When I checked this location (the Kitahama area of Beppu City) using Rakuten's official "My Area Network Simulation" tool, the overall rating came back as a "C."
Since this rating comes straight from a tool published by the company itself, I'll just leave it here as-is. A "C" rating seems to mean there's a chance the connection could be unstable depending on exactly where you are. If you're planning to do any online work or video calls during your stay, it might be worth checking this in advance for peace of mind.

Honestly, seeing that C rating left me a little disappointed. As a Rakuten Mobile user myself, the idea of leisurely browsing my phone while soaking in the hot spring might be a bit tricky, and that makes me a little sad. Still, the appeal of the hot spring itself doesn't change, so maybe it's best to just accept the signal situation as it is.
Wrapping Up
Looking back over everything, my impression of Beppu Onsen Yusai no Yado Bokai is that of an inn known for its skin-beautifying waters from two private source springs, along with the memorable achievement of winning the jalan OF THE YEAR 2025 award. The wide range of room type options, including rooms with views of the sea or Beppu Tower, also felt like something that could add to the enjoyment of a trip.
On the other hand, since the Rakuten Mobile signal came back as a C rating, anyone who places importance on connectivity might want to keep that in mind. If you're curious, you can check it yourself using Rakuten Mobile's official tool, so it might be worth taking a look if you're considering a stay.
