Looking into Atami Pearl Star Hotel
2026-10-02

I've been looking into all kinds of places in a row, focusing on inns and hotels that seem easy to get to even without a car.
This time I looked into Atami Pearl Star Hotel. I'm an indoor person, so a hotel "hocance" (a staycation-style stay where you just hole up and relax) appeals to me more than traveling far to go sightseeing. When I found out there's a 12 m long bath on the top floor, I got curious and checked the official website.
The location right in front of Omiya no Matsu and the 12 m infinity bath on the top floor seem to be this hotel's biggest draws.
As for Rakuten Mobile, the official tool gave it a C rating. That's something worth keeping in mind.
I've put the details below.
What's This Seaside Hotel Facing Omiya no Matsu Like?
It's a hotel along Sagami Bay in Atami, and according to the official website, it stands right in front of Omiya no Matsu.
It also says that during fireworks season, you can watch fireworks launched right in front of the hotel from the terrace. There was also a notice saying it's been listed in the "Michelin Guide Hotel Selection 2025."
Here's the basic info, as far as I could confirm on the official website.
- Location: the seaside area of Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture
- Access: apparently a 10-minute walk from Atami Station, or 5 minutes by taxi
- Shuttle: the title of the access page mentions a free taxi shuttle, but I couldn't find a detailed explanation of the pickup spot, times, or conditions
- Booking: it looks like you go from the official website to an external reservation system to book. I couldn't find clear info about booking a stay by phone or email
- Rates: I couldn't find plan-by-plan prices on the official website, so it seems you'd check them in the reservation system
- Check-in/check-out times: not listed on the pages I could check
- Parking: I couldn't confirm whether there is any, or what it costs
It's within walking distance of Atami Station, and apparently a taxi from the station doesn't take very long either. As a paper driver myself, it was nice to see that it seems easy to reach without a car. You can check the official details on the official website.

Being within walking distance of the station is a big help for someone like me who doesn't drive. I couldn't find the detailed shuttle conditions, so if you're curious, it's probably best to check ahead of time.
The Top-Floor "Infinity Bath" Caught My Eye
The star attraction of this hotel seems to be the large public bath on the top floor, the "Infinity Bath."
It's 12 m long and apparently uses hot spring water from the hotel's own source. The water is described as a chloride spring, weakly alkaline at pH 8.3, and clear and colorless. The hot spring is called Omiya no Matsu Onsen.
According to the official page, the facilities around the baths are as follows.
- Saunas: there seem to be a dry sauna (85°C) and a steam sauna (45°C)
- Cold plunge: 17°C, apparently
- Indoor baths: apparently there are indoor baths with carbonated water and hydrogen water
- Post-bath lounge area: it seems one is provided
That said, as far as I could confirm, I couldn't tell what the Infinity Bath's hours are or whether day-trip use is possible. It's probably best to assume it's for overnight guests.
Checking the Rooms and In-House Facilities from an Indoor Person's Perspective
The rooms are divided into categories like SUITE, DELUXE, SUPERIOR, and TRIPLE, and apparently all of them have ocean views. It seems connecting rooms and universal design types are included too.
Some room names also include labels indicating an open-air bath (ROTEN), a terrace bath (TERRACE BATH), a view bath (VIEW BATH), or a Japanese-style room (shitsurai). However, I couldn't find any statement that every room comes with a hot spring bath. The number of rooms is also unknown.
The hotel also seems to have plenty of other facilities where you could happily stay in and relax.
- Restaurants: apparently there's Sinfonia (French-style local gastronomy), MIYOSHI (sushi), TOMO (teppanyaki), and KAJI (Wagyu yakiniku)
- Bar and lounge: there's a bar called Kir, a lounge called Ocean Breeze, and it seems a terrace as well
- Relaxation: Iori SPA Atami, and Fitness Rukina Atami on the 3rd floor (available to hotel guests)
- Around the lobby: apparently Pearl Star Gallery (10:00-18:00) and SELECT SHOP (9:00-20:00) are on the 1st floor
- Closure days to note: there was a notice that the sushi restaurant MIYOSHI and the teppanyaki restaurant TOMO have closure days set each month. They were listed by date rather than a fixed day of the week, so it seems you'd need to check before you visit
The official concept page also mentions a 10 m high andon-style lantern ceiling in the lobby. The atmosphere inside the hotel seems like it could be a highlight too.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
As a Rakuten Mobile user, this is the part I care about most. I checked this hotel's location (Atami) with the official "my Area Communication Simulation," and the overall rating came up as "C" (checked on October 2, 2026).
Judging from this result, it seems wise to check the connection quality in advance depending on where you'll be.
The actual signal may also vary depending on where you are in the hotel, which floor you're on, and which way your room faces. If you're thinking of streaming videos or working remotely at the hotel, it's good to keep this in mind beforehand.
If you're curious, please check it yourself with Rakuten Mobile's official my Area Communication Simulation.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed that it got a C. I think a stay where you don't rely on the signal and just sink into the baths and the food would suit this place.
Wrapping Up
To sum it up, my impression of Atami Pearl Star Hotel is that it's a hotel right in front of Omiya no Matsu where you can seemingly take your time enjoying the 12 m infinity bath on the top floor.
It's a 10-minute walk from Atami Station, or 5 minutes by taxi, so it seems easy to get to even without a car. The restaurants and in-house facilities are also plentiful, so it looked like a fun destination for a hocance, holing up in the hotel.
On the other hand, as far as I could confirm, I couldn't find the room rates, check-in and check-out times, details of the free shuttle, or whether the Infinity Bath is open to day-trip visitors. Before booking, it's reassuring to check the official website or the reservation system.
As for Rakuten Mobile, the official tool gave it a C rating. If you plan to use a lot of data, please check with the official tool beforehand.
