I Looked Into Atami Korakuen Hotel
2026-08-27

This blog is all about endlessly researching campsites and hot spring facilities that catch my interest, but every now and then I think "maybe today I'll skip camping and try a hotel stay instead," so I've been gradually looking into hotel options too.
This time I looked into Atami Korakuen Hotel in Atami. What got me started was learning that it apparently has a panoramic bath overlooking Atami city and Sagami Bay—as someone who's more of an indoor type, I figured I could at least enjoy the view from a hot spring.
One of the biggest draws seems to be the location, which is easy to get to even without a car—about 10 minutes from Atami Station via free shuttle bus.
The Rakuten Mobile signal came back with a C rating, so if you're planning to rely on your connection, it might be worth checking in advance.
I've summarized the details below.
What Atami Korakuen Hotel Is Like
It's a hot spring hotel located in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture. According to the official website, the large communal bath includes a panoramic bath overlooking Atami city and Sagami Bay. Another notable feature is that it has its own private hot spring source, so it seems designed to let guests enjoy both the scenery and the hot springs together.
The property also has a day-use hot spring facility called "Ocean Spa Fuua" attached to it, which I actually looked into in a separate article before. One thing worth noting is that the free shuttle bus is shared between the hotel and that facility.
Reservations can apparently be made either through the online booking system or by calling the reservation center. As for pricing, neither the official website nor Rakuten Travel lists specific amounts—it seems pricing is shown per accommodation plan instead, so if you're curious, checking through the plan search looks like the most reliable way to go. I did see check-in listed as 15:00–19:00 and check-out at 10:00, though these might vary depending on the plan.

Learning that you can supposedly see Sagami Bay from the panoramic bath made me want to go soak in the water and just zone out for a while, if I ever get the chance. Since I don't drive, whether a place like this is close to a station is always my first criteria when it comes to inns that are all about enjoying the view.
Easy Access Even Without a Car
There's apparently a free shuttle bus running from Atami Station, taking about 10 minutes. The pickup point seems to be at the rotary on the right as you exit the ticket gate, around where the McDonald's is. No reservation is needed, but seating is limited, so there's apparently a notice that you might not be able to board—that seems worth keeping in mind.
The number of runs is pretty generous: departures from Atami Station run every 30 minutes from 9:40 to 19:10, and departures from the hotel run every 30 minutes from 8:30 to 18:40, with additional departures at 19:40, 20:40, 21:40, and 22:20. Outside of these hours, the guidance points you toward route bus number 7 (bound for Atami Korakuen) or a taxi instead. As someone who doesn't drive, I found this frequency pretty reassuring.
There's parking for 120 cars, and I also saw a notice that starting in May 2025, it costs 500 yen per night. Worth keeping in mind if you're driving there.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
When I checked this location's address using the official "My Area Connectivity Simulation" tool, the overall rating came back as "C." I'll just share this as-is, since it's what came up using the tool the company makes publicly available.
If you're thinking of using the panoramic bath to snap a photo and share it right away, this rating might be something to keep in mind. I couldn't confirm whether there's in-house Wi-Fi from the official website, so if connectivity matters to you, it seems worth checking that alongside the signal conditions.

Hearing a C rating gives me a bit of a chill, but being upfront about things is this blog's policy, so I'm not going to hide it. I'm on Rakuten Mobile exclusively, so at places with results like this, I make sure to pay extra attention to Wi-Fi information.
Wrapping Up
To sum it all up, Atami Korakuen Hotel struck me as a hot spring hotel with the appeal of great access—about 10 minutes from Atami Station via free shuttle bus—along with a panoramic bath overlooking Atami city and Sagami Bay.
Between that and the fact that the day-use hot spring facility "Ocean Spa Fuua" shares the same free shuttle bus, it seems like a pretty accessible option even for someone like me who doesn't own a car. The Rakuten Mobile signal came back with a C rating, so if you're planning to rely on your connection while you're there, it's probably a good idea to check the official tool ahead of time.
