I Looked Into YUKARA GLAMPING HOKKAIDO
2026-09-02

This is part of my ongoing series where I research all kinds of accommodations and record them on this blog. This time I'm taking a bit of a detour from my usual campgrounds to look into a glamping facility in Hokkaido. I actually made a category called "Hotel-Cation Detours" for this kind of thing myself, but hadn't updated it in a while, so I'm taking this opportunity to catch up.
This time I looked into a facility called YUKARA GLAMPING HOKKAIDO. The official site's photos of dome tents arranged in a circle really caught my eye, and that's what made me want to organize my findings on it. Since I'm a license-holder who barely drives, I also checked whether it's possible to get there without a car.
This appears to be a glamping facility located just 5 minutes on foot from Onuma-Koen Station, which is a huge plus for those of us without a car.
I wasn't able to check the Rakuten Mobile signal conditions this time, so if that's a concern for you, it's probably worth checking for yourself beforehand.
I've summarized the details below.
What Kind of Place Is YUKARA GLAMPING HOKKAIDO?
Apparently it's a glamping facility located in Nanae, Kameda District, Hokkaido, right next to Onuma Quasi-National Park. What especially caught my eye was how the 6 dome tents are arranged around a central fire circle—the official site really conveyed that cozy atmosphere of gathering around a campfire at night.
It seems the tents come in 3 types, with 2 of each.
- Standard (FUMI / RYO): Two semi-double beds, capacity of 2 with room for 1 additional guest, apparently.
- Family Suite (SETSU / YOU): Two semi-double beds, capacity of 2 with room for 1 additional guest, apparently.
- Executive Suite (SHIKI / UTA): Two double beds, capacity of 2 with room for up to 2 additional guests, apparently.
The fact that each tent has its own name gave me the impression that every single one is carefully curated.
I Looked Into the Meals and Access
The dining style seems to change with the seasons. From spring through fall, guests can apparently enjoy outdoor BBQ on a dedicated deck, with a charcoal grill centered around venison and seafood. In winter, meals seem to be served inside the adjacent in-house restaurant, called Ristorante Yukara. Breakfast also seems to be prepared at this restaurant, so it's easy to imagine a morning routine of taking a walk in the fresh air of Onuma Quasi-National Park before sitting down to eat.
All in-room drinks are apparently free, which as an indoor type myself, makes it seem easy to spend relaxed time in the room. The counter bar seems to have been closed at the time of this research, so that's something to wait on for a possible reopening.
As for access, the biggest highlight for me was that it's about a 5-minute walk from Onuma-Koen Station, which is served by JR limited express trains. From Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station it's about a 15-minute taxi ride, and from Hakodate Airport it's roughly a 40-minute drive by rental car or bus. I couldn't find any mention of a shuttle service from the facility on the official site, so I wasn't able to confirm that.
As for pricing, there's no rate table on the official site, but the booking site seems to show a rough guide starting from around 9,900 yen per person. It looks like this can vary depending on group size and season, so it's probably best to confirm the exact amount when booking. Reservations seem to be accepted both through the contact form and by phone.

Glamping just 5 minutes from the station on foot is a pretty great condition for someone like me who doesn't drive. Even just from the photos, the fire circle layout really conveyed a great atmosphere.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
I tried to check this facility's location using the official "My Area Coverage Simulation" tool, but no result came up—instead I got a message saying something like "currently under temporary maintenance," so I wasn't able to confirm the results this time. It's possible this is what shows up when address data isn't available for a given location, but I can't say for sure, so I'm marking the overall signal assessment as unknown.
Given that it's close to Onuma Quasi-National Park, I am a little curious about the signal conditions in an area surrounded by mountains and lakes, but I wasn't able to confirm that in this round of research.

Honestly, all I can say here is "I couldn't find out." If you're planning a stay, I'd recommend checking with your own device or tool before heading out, just to be safe.
Wrapping Up
To sum it up, my impression of YUKARA GLAMPING HOKKAIDO is that it's a glamping facility in a great location just 5 minutes on foot from Onuma-Koen Station, with 6 dome tents lined up around a fire circle. The fact that even I, someone who doesn't drive, could easily consider staying here felt like a major appeal, and the meals—like outdoor BBQ with venison and seafood—also caught my interest. That said, I wasn't able to confirm the Rakuten Mobile signal conditions this time, so it seems like a good idea to check with the official tool beforehand when planning your visit.
