I Looked Into SPRINGS VILLAGE Hakone Glamping Resort

This blog keeps digging into campgrounds, but for those days when I think "maybe today leans more toward a hocance than a tent," I've also been slowly researching glamping resorts as a side detour.

This time I looked into "SPRINGS VILLAGE Hakone Glamping Resort." It's a glamping facility located in Sengokuhara, Hakone, and I heard that depending on the room type, you can even choose an apartment with a natural hot spring. That sounded like it could suit an indoor type like me, so I decided to dig into the details.

The Short Version

This facility seems appealing for its wide range of options, from cabins to apartments with BBQ decks, all the way up to rooms with natural hot spring water flowing directly into the bathroom.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal, I checked with the official tool and got a rating of C.

I'll lay out the details below.

What Kind of Facility Is SPRINGS VILLAGE Hakone?

This is a glamping resort located in the Sengokuhara area of Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture. The facility appears to be divided into two areas: the "Glamping Area" (cabins and a private 4LDK villa) and the "Apartment Area" (Suite Type A and B). Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM, and this seems to apply regardless of room type.

Reservations are made through dedicated booking pages on the official site for each room type, and it seems you can also book through other reservation sites like Rakuten Travel or Jalan. I couldn't find a flat rate table on the official site for accommodation fees—it looks like pricing varies by season and number of guests, so it seems best to check the booking page for whichever room type you're interested in.

I assumed this was mainly a cabin-focused facility, but they even have a private 4LDK villa, and the range of options really stood out to me. It seems easy to use for families or groups of friends too.

Checking Out the Room Types with BBQ Decks

The Glamping CABIN type accommodates up to 6 guests. While the room itself is 17 square meters, it apparently comes with a BBQ deck of about 20 to 30 square meters. It's equipped with air conditioning, an IH stove, microwave, rice cooker, and refrigerator, plus a bathroom and toilet inside the room, so it seems like it would be more comfortable than tent camping. That said, this type doesn't have a natural hot spring—just a unit bath with a shower.

The private 4LDK villa is about 130 square meters plus a 20-square-meter BBQ deck, with four bedrooms (two Western-style, two Japanese-style) and room for up to 10 guests. It even comes with a washing machine and air purifier, so it seems well suited for longer stays with larger groups.

  • Glamping CABIN: up to 6 guests, 20–30 sqm BBQ deck, 1 free parking space
  • Private 4LDK Villa: up to 10 guests, 4 bedrooms, 2 free parking spaces

The Option of an Apartment with a Natural Hot Spring

Personally, the two types in the Apartment Area caught my attention the most. Apartment A (a 75-square-meter garden suite) and Apartment B (a 150-square-meter 2LDK) both apparently come with a natural hot spring right in the bathroom. It seems like a hocance-friendly option where you can keep some of that camping atmosphere while staying in a room with a hot spring.

Apartment A accommodates up to 5 guests and comes with a 10-square-meter BBQ deck, while Apartment B accommodates up to 9 guests and has a 10-square-meter covered BBQ space. Both apparently allow pets free of charge—up to two small dogs or one medium-sized dog—so this seems like a good fit for anyone considering a hot-spring glamping trip with their dog.

There's also apparently an option available across all room types to pre-book a BBQ set featuring top-grade A5 Miyazaki wagyu beef and vegetables. The facility doesn't seem to have a permanent restaurant, so the basic style is BBQ and self-catering, with cooking equipment provided in each room.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

As a Rakuten Mobile user, what I'm curious about is naturally the signal conditions on-site. I entered the facility's location (the Sengokuhara area of Hakone Town) into the official "My Area Connectivity Simulation" tool, and the overall rating came back as "C."

Given that it's located in a mountainous vacation home area, the signal might be somewhat unstable. If you're planning to spend a lot of time on the BBQ deck or enjoying the hot spring in your apartment, it might be reassuring to prepare a bit for connectivity beforehand. Getting ready to be fine offline could make it easier to plan how you'll spend your time.

That C rating was a bit concerning to me. If your trip centers around the hot spring or relaxing in the room, it seems worth checking your connectivity in advance.

Nearby Sightseeing and Food Also Caught My Eye

Nearby attractions seem to include the Hakone Glass no Mori Museum, the Hakone Shisseikaen Wetlands Park, and the Hakone Lalique Museum, all scattered within about 1 to 2 kilometers. There was also information suggesting that from the Apartment Area, you can reach a spot overlooking Owakudani by car in about 15 to 20 minutes. The Sengokuhara Susuki Grassland and the Pola Museum of Art are also nearby, making this a location well suited to relaxing in your room between bouts of sightseeing.

As for food, the Sengokuhara area apparently has a butcher shop known for popular roast beef, as well as a restaurant serving wild yam and handmade soba. I couldn't confirm this information on the official site, but it seems worth keeping in mind either for sourcing BBQ ingredients or as a place to eat out for a change of pace. There are also apparently convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants within a 15-minute walk, so shopping for supplies shouldn't be too difficult.

Wrapping Up

Pulling it all together, SPRINGS VILLAGE Hakone Glamping Resort left me with the impression of being a glamping facility where you can choose your own level of comfort, from cabins all the way to apartments with natural hot springs. With its open, BBQ-deck-equipped rooms and the fact that some room types allow pets, it seems to accommodate a wide range of ways to spend your stay.

The Rakuten Mobile signal came back as a C rating, so if connectivity matters to you, it seems worth preparing in advance. If you're concerned about it, you can check using the official Rakuten Mobile tool, so it might be reassuring to take a look before you head out.
