I Looked Into Seaside Terrace Chiba Kamogawa

So far I've looked into more than just campsites—I've also researched a few detour options for those "let's skip camping and do a hotel staycation instead" moments. As someone who leans more toward the indoor type, accommodations with natural hot springs and private pools are a category that really catches my interest.

This time, I looked into Seaside Terrace Chiba Kamogawa, located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. I came across information saying the rooms have both a hot spring and a private pool inside, and that caught my interest, so I decided to dig deeper.

The Short Version

There are villas with a natural hot spring bath and a private pool right inside the room, and apparently the layout lets you enjoy both without ever having to step outside.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal, the official tool's measurement came back with a C rating, which isn't a particularly good result.

I've summarized the details below.

What Kind of Place Is Seaside Terrace Chiba Kamogawa?

This facility is located along the coast in the Emi area of Kamogawa City, and apparently guests can choose between two accommodation styles: villas and glamping. It seems there are 2 villa buildings and 4 glamping units.

The villas apparently accommodate anywhere from 2 to 8 people, so they seem to cover everything from small groups to larger parties. What really caught my eye was that each room has both a natural hot spring bath available 24 hours a day and an 8-meter private pool. On top of that, there's reportedly a private sauna where you can do your own self-service steam pours, plus an ocean-front deck and private dining space, giving the impression that you could go through a full relaxation routine without ever leaving the room. One of the villas is apparently named something like the "Suite Dog Villa," where you can stay together with your pet.

Honestly, having both a hot spring and a pool right in the room feels like a pretty luxurious combo. For someone like me who doesn't want to step outside the room even once, this might be close to ideal.

The glamping area, meanwhile, consists of insulated dome tents fully equipped with heating and air conditioning, with capacity for 2 to 6 people. Each unit apparently comes with its own shower and toilet, and there's also a shared outdoor sauna available for free on a reservation basis. Individual decks and BBQ spaces are also set up, giving the impression that this plan is aimed at guests who want a slightly lighter, more casual experience than the villas.

Checking Out the Meals and Activity Options

For the BBQ, it seems they follow a "local production, local consumption" concept using ingredients from Chiba Prefecture. A BBQ using local ingredients sounds like exactly the kind of thing that makes a trip special. Gas grills for BBQ can apparently be rented for 5,000 yen (tax included), while the camping gear itself can be rented for free.

There also seem to be food education activities like making popcorn, shrimp crackers, and baked sweet potatoes. It gives the impression that families with kids could enjoy this too. As for pricing, no specific price range is listed on the official website, so it looks like you need to check individually on the respective booking pages for villas and glamping. Reservations themselves are web-only, and changes or cancellations apparently work the same way, through the website. Phone inquiries seem to be possible, but the booking process itself is basically online.

Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions

When I checked this facility's location using the official "My Area Connectivity Simulation" tool, the overall rating came back as a "C."

Since the result was a C rating, it's probably a good idea to check in advance. Given that it's a coastal area, signal reception might vary to some degree. I'll just share this simulation result as-is.

A C rating is a bit of a concerning number. Since I'm a Rakuten Mobile user myself, I want to be honest about results like this.

Looking Into Access

If you're taking the train, apparently you'd get off at Futomi Station on the JR Uchibo Line, take a Tateyama-Kamogawa Line bus (bound for Tateyama Station), get off at the "Boshu Ohashi" bus stop, and then walk about 3 minutes. As someone who doesn't drive, it was reassuring to know you could get there using just a train, bus, and a short walk.

If you're driving, it's about 110 minutes from Tokyo and about 100 minutes from Chiba City. Taking the Boso Skyline and then Route 128 apparently gets you there in around 15 minutes. Since I'm technically a licensed driver who never actually drives, I probably wouldn't be making this trip by car myself, but I appreciated that the location is also accessible by train and bus.

Wrapping Up

To sum it up again, Seaside Terrace Chiba Kamogawa left me with the impression of a place with villas featuring an in-room natural hot spring bath and private pool, where you can enjoy both without ever stepping outside. The glamping area, with its fully air-conditioned and heated dome tents, also appealed to me as another accommodation style you can choose from.

On the other hand, the Rakuten Mobile signal condition came back with a C rating. If you use Rakuten Mobile and are concerned about signal, it might be worth checking with the official tool beforehand for peace of mind.
