I Looked Into Regina Resort Kamogawa
2026-09-29

On this blog, I keep researching not just campgrounds but also "hotels and inns I'd love to splurge on for a stay," as a fun detour from my usual hokans (hotel + vacation) exploring.
This time I looked into Regina Resort Kamogawa, located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. I came across information that it's a resort hotel where dogs are welcome, and even though I don't have a dog myself, I got genuinely curious and decided to check out the official website.
It seems like the appeal here is a combination you don't see very often elsewhere: every room has an ocean view, and it's a resort hotel where you can stay together with your dog.
As for Rakuten Mobile signal, my actual check came back with a rating of C.
I've put together the details below.
What Kind of Place Is Regina Resort Kamogawa?
It's apparently a resort hotel located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture, on the Pacific side of the southeastern Boso Peninsula. Since the area has a mild oceanic climate, it seems like a location that's comfortable to visit regardless of the season.
The biggest feature seems to be that every room comes with a wide terrace and a view bath, all set up for ocean views. Being able to gaze at the sea without even leaving your room is honestly something that caught my attention, indoor type that I am. At the restaurant, apparently you can enjoy kaiseki course meals made with local ingredients, along with local sake and wine selected by a sommelier.
The Concept of a Resort You Can Stay at With Your Dog
What stood out to me most while researching was that this place is built entirely around the premise of bringing your dog along. There's apparently a dedicated "dog fitness" facility, complete with aqua fitness and fitness programs designed specifically for dogs. There's also a separate outdoor pool for humans, so it sounds like the place is designed so both owners and their dogs can each enjoy themselves.
- Dog stay fees: When booking through the official website or by phone, it's apparently free for up to 2 dogs of any breed (2,200 yen tax included per dog from the 3rd dog onward)
- When booking through other reservation sites: it seems to be 3,300 yen tax included per dog, regardless of breed
- Maximum number of dogs: apparently up to 6 for small to medium-sized dogs, and up to 3 for large dogs
- For the terms of staying with your dog and pet insurance, it seems you can complete the agreement process online
Since the fee seems to change depending on the booking channel, if you're planning to stay with your dog, it seems like a good idea to check before booking for peace of mind. The room rates themselves aren't specifically listed on the official website, and it seems like they're provided individually through the reservation system.

I don't have a dog myself, but hearing that they even have a dog fitness facility, I honestly felt like this place has enough going for it to make me want to get a dog.
Access and How Reservations Work
By train, it's apparently about a 7-minute drive from JR Awa-Kamogawa Station, and there's a free shuttle bus available too. However, it's a complete reservation system, and you need to book by 5 PM the day before your stay. The shuttle runs from 10 AM to 6 PM, and if you'd like a different time, you apparently need to call by 5 PM the day before as well. Since I don't drive, this shuttle bus was pretty reassuring information for me.
If you're driving, the route apparently goes via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, passing through from Ukishima IC through the Aqua-Line to Kimitsu IC, and then via the Boso Skyline and Kamogawa Toll Road. Since it's a newly opened facility, it apparently isn't registered yet in some car navigation map data, so the official guidance is to search for Kamogawa Sea World or Kameda General Hospital instead. It seems easy to get lost if you head there without knowing this, so if you're planning to drive, it's probably worth checking in advance.
Reservations are apparently made either through the web booking system or by phone. The web booking system apparently moved to a new one in October 2023, and using it requires new member registration. Booking by phone is also apparently possible.
Rakuten Mobile Signal Conditions
Since I use Rakuten Mobile, I checked this facility's location using the official "My Area Network Simulation" tool. The overall rating came back as "C".
This is the rating I got from checking the official tool. If you're planning on things like staying in touch or watching videos online during your stay, it seems like a good idea to keep this rating in mind and also check on things like the in-house Wi-Fi availability.

Seeing the C rating, I honestly felt a bit deflated. It's a shame that with such a great ocean view, you might not be able to upload photos right away.
Wrapping Up
To sum it up, my impression of Regina Resort Kamogawa is that it's a resort hotel unique to the Boso area, where every room has an ocean view and you can stay together with your dog. The well-rounded facilities for dogs, including the dog fitness area, felt like a feature you don't often see at other places to stay. The free shuttle bus was also something that caught my attention, since I don't drive.
The Rakuten Mobile signal came back as a C rating, so if you're concerned about connectivity during your stay, it seems like a good idea to check with the official Rakuten Mobile tool beforehand.
